• Volunteer Award Nomination 2026

    Nominations are received during the last half of calendar year 2025 for volunteers to be recognized in Spring of 2026. Please read the criteria for each award carefully so that your nomination is for the appropriate award. GSWISE reserves the right to update nominations to a more appropriate award before forwarding to the approval committee if needed.

  • Living Her Legacy Award

    The Living Her Legacy Award recognizes volunteers who have contributed outstanding service while partnering directly with girls in the troop pathway to implement the Girl Scout Leadership Experience(GSLE). The nominee is an active, registered adult Girl Scout. The nominee has been the Troop Leader of the same group of girls for 13 consecutive years, from when the girls were in kindergarten until they graduated High School.
  • Volunteer of Excellence Award

    The Volunteer of Excellence Award recognizes volunteers who have contributed outstanding service while partnering directly with girls in any pathway to implement the Girl Scout Leadership Experience (GSLE) through use of the National Program Portfolio or who have contributed outstanding service in support of the council's mission delivery to girl and adult members. The nominee is an active, registered, adult Girl Scout. The nominee has performed beyond expectations for the position to deliver the GSLE to girls using the National Program Portfolio OR the nominee's performance has been beyond the expectations of the position and has supported the council's mission delivery goals in one or more of the following functional areas: membership development/community cultivation, volunteer relations and support, program, leadership and governance, fund development, or council support service. (Generally given for service at the troop level.)

    The Appreciation Pin recognizes an individual's exemplary service in support of delivering the Girl Scout Leadership Experience (GSLE). This service, which has had measurable impact on one geographic area of service, helps the council reach and surpass its mission-delivery goals for that area. The nominee is an active, registered, adult Girl Scout. The service performed by the nominee is above and beyond the expectations for the position held, and made an impact on one geographic/service area within the council's jurisdiction. (Generally given for service at the service unit level.)
  • Honor Pin

    The Honor Pin recognizes an individual's exemplary service in support of delivering the Girl Scout Leadership Experience (GSLE), which has had measurable impact on two or more geographic areas of service, allowing the council to reach and surpass its mission-delivery goals. The nominee is an active, registered, adult Girl Scout. The service performed by the nominee is above and beyond the expectations for the position held, and made an impact on two or more geographic/service areas within the council's jurisdiction. (Generally given for service at an area or regional level.)
  • Thanks Badge

    The Thanks Badge honors an individual whose ongoing commitment, leadership, and service have had an exceptional, measurable impact on meeting the mission-delivery goals and priorities of the entire council or the entire Girl Scout movement. The nominee is an active, registered, adult Girl Scout. The outstanding service performed by the nominee resulted in outcomes that benefited the total council or the entire Girl Scout organization, and is so significantly above and beyond the call of duty that no other award would be appropriate. (Requires that the work affect the entire council.)
  • Thanks Badge II

    The Thanks Badge II honors a previous Thanks Badge recipient who has continued to provide exemplary service in a leadership role, resulting in measurable impact that benefits the entire Girl Scout movement. The nominee is an active, registered, adult Girl Scout. The nominee has received the Thanks Badge for past accomplishments. The outstanding service performed by the nominee resulted in outcomes that benefited the total council or the entire Girl Scout organization, and is so significantly above and beyond the call of duty that no other award would be appropriate. (Requires that the work affect the entire council.)
  • Marion Chester Read Award

    The Marion Chester Read Read is for volunteers who have received the Thanks Badge and are still showing additional support to Girl Scouts of Wisconsin Southeast. The nominee is an active, registered, adult Girl Scout who has demonstrated noteworthy volunteerism, modeled the Girl Scout spirit, and shared their skills and talents to advance the Girl Scout mission. (Requires that the work affect the entire council.)
  • Sustained Service Pin

    The Sustained Service Pin is given to an individual who has continued to volunteer at the Service Unit level an additional three years after receiving a GSUSA or GSWISE award. They must be a registered Girl Scout adult. The nominee has demonstrated noteworthy volunteerism, modeled the Girl Scout spirit, and shared their skills and talents to advance the Girl Scout mission.
  • President's Award

    The President's Award recognizes the efforts of a service-delivery team or committee whose exemplary service in support of delivering the Girl Scout Leadership Experience (GSLE) surpassed team goals and resulted in significant, measurable impact toward reaching the council's overall goals. All team members are registered Girl Scouts. All team members have met requirements and expectations of the positions held. The team has significantly contributed to meeting one or more of the council's mission-delivery goals. The team reflects the diversity of the target audience or area it serves, in girl and adult membership and in all pathways. The team actively recognizes, understands, and practices the values of inclusive behavior.
  • Girl Scout Champion Award

    The Girl Scout Champion Award recognizes an individual that does not currently hold a volunteer role and has given special assistance or contributions to Girl Scouting within our jurisdiction. Small-business owners should be recognized with the Community Support Certificate for contributions through the business. Anyone serving in a volunteer role that requires a Girl Scout membership should be nominated for a volunteer award.
  • Community Support Certificate

    The Community Support Certificate recognizes a business or organization that has given unusual assistance or special contributions to Girl Scouting within our jurisdiction.
  • No endorsements are required for this award.

  • Endorsement Letters

    This award requires at least one endorsement letter, written by a second individual, to be submitted in order to be sent to the committee for consideration.
  • At the request of our awards approval committee, please note:

    • Endorsement letters should contain sufficient detail to support the nomination, but should not be excessively long. Typically, one page is plenty of space.
    • A maximum of two endorsement letters is allowed. If more are submitted the first two letters, as they appear to council staff when reviewing nominations, will be sent to the committee for review.

    Note: the approval committee will typically not consider an endorsement letter that is copied from the nomination with a different name on it.
